My First Crochet Projects!

So I decided to pick up some yarn work again. Since I have felt pretty useless around the house I felt like I needed to do something...

So I decided to make stuff for the baby. I made the green wash cloth first. it's baby sized! ^_^ Sorry, the color's off thanks to the lighting. Not bad for my first true projects, if I do say so myself. And good thing about these is I can also use them as spa cloths.

I must say, I really do enjoy crocheting. It gets the job done quick and it doesn't hurt my hands. But I do love the way a finished knitting project looks. Which is why I'm knitting my next project. I'm thinking a bib/cloth, which is a bib with removable straps.

In baby news, not too much to report...I can't remember if I already mentioned before but I passed my glucose test. And I guess she's measuring a little big. But sonograms are frequently off when it comes to weight so I'm not too worried. I'm pretty sure she's already dropped too. I get the feeling that she'll be coming before her due date. I never thought is say this, but I kinda hope so. I miss me. All these hormones - gah!

Little baby nudges at 29 weeks

She's actually being really calm...

Also, I just found out that my second glucose tolerance test (for gestational diabetes) came back normal!! I'm soo happy! I had it with both my son & daughter. SCREW YOU GESTATIONAL DIABETES! I still need to exercise more. Even though it feels like I'm splitting in half.

To be continued later -  things just got a bit crazy here.

I should have mentioned earlier...

I'm shaving my head this Friday, April 16th to help fight children's cancer.

http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/meaganf

I originally posted a Facebook status about my considering shaving my head...Most of everyone thought - and still thinks - that it's a great idea. Some were shallow in their opinions. About the same number of people reposted the link to donate. And only two people have donated...

It upsets me. Probably a little more so since I'm pregnant...But these people were so quick to help Haiti...No one wants to help children here who may not live to see the next day. My own father didn't help. My sister went tanning. What the hell...

...Just sayin...

I'm fighting the urge to tell these people my opinion of them...But I can't. Not yet, anyway. I'm too hormonal and bitchy to keep my composure...So I think I'll just continue to hermit myself away from them.

Little baby nudges at 23 weeks 5 days

Most of the action is going on to my right... All the nudges you see are her head.... And this is her being calm. Usually, she's a lot more active but she's been lazy lately.

We Have Reached an Official Verdict

It's a girl! She's measuring right on time. The AFP tests came back looking good. No gestational diabetes. No clots. Woo hoo! So far, everything's completely uncomplicated! It's so nice compared to my horrifying pregnancy with my son (he was conceived two months after a miscarriage, and then I started bleeding at 12 weeks and continued bleeding for about two and a half months).

Here are some of the sonogram pictures. The first one here is from when I was 12 weeks.

And these are from the 1st (18 1/2 weeks), weighing 11 oz

Here, her cheek is resting on her shoulders

Revamp...or somwthing

So, it appears this little blog will be headed in a bit ofm a new directions for a bit. Life and my arthritis has kept me from my needle work. I know, I'm 25 and I have arthritis...thank you, genetics!

It's frustrating. I really want to knit, especially for the baby. But, it takes me what seems like forever to complete small, simple projects...

So, while I will be posting some knitting-related stuff, expect to see more posts taken from my life, as well as tangents and musings.

*********************************

Anyway. Key change.

Tomorrow we'll find out whether the baby is a girl or boy. I'm really hoping girl, but of course, I'll be happy either way. But the family really needs another girl in the mix. All of Bucket's cousins are boys, and she really wants a sister. Just today, she was asking if we could name the baby Batgirl. Or Spidergirl. And then proceeded to sing the gender altered "Spiderman Theme Song".

I'm also hoping Dan will be able to record a bit of the sonogram...

But......I'm tired. So bedtime for me! Night!

A funny thing...

So it's been a whirlwind past few months here...

A few outside elements prevented me from spending too much time on the computer. Part of it was a series of unfortunate events, another being a general bitchiness from me, and a couple other bits here and there.

At the beginning of November, I finally resigned to the idea of taking an indefinite TTC break. However, as November 23rd came around I  noticed that I was extremely tired and that I hadn't started yet. I tried not to get my hopes up since my cycles are all stupid...So I went out and picked up a dollar test. And, holy shit! It was positive!!

For a bit, I expected to lose it. As horrible as it seems...but something inside me said "No way in hell". So, here we are, 14 weeks today due July 30th. I spent the early weeks feeling (blissfully) like shit. Whoever said each pregnancy gets easier lied. And thusfar, it's been uncomplicated (minus some spotting)!

I'm still exhausted and have insomnia. But each day and each week that passes I'm in complete awe. I didn't think it was going to happen anytime soon or if at all.

How have I not gone completely crazy, yet?
